How do you know if you have a good
hotel website?
Your hotel website either attracts 300 visitors per month or converts 5% of
all visitors into clients?
Then you have a very average website for a small hotel.
Lower than that and your website is underachieving. Double the figures and
your website is going towards the very good achievers.
WHEN IS A HOTEL WEBSITE VERY GOOD?
The website is lodged on a decent server and loads very quickly.
The style and feel are pleasant, professional, transmit the style and rating of the hotel and target the right guest.
It can be visited on cellular devices, from BlackBerry to iPhones.
The navigation is clear and easy. The visitor never has to do more than move the mouse to immediately find the information that he or she is looking for.
The website answers all the most important questions any visitor might have.
The contact details are on every page, and always on top.
And last but not least, the website is 100% ethical in its marketing message as well as in its SEO or marketing techniques.
WHEN DOES "GOOD" TURN INTO EXCELLENT?
The textual content is fresh. There is no copy/paste
involved, and you refrain from insipid, second-hand marketing babble.
"Come as a guest, leave as a friend"... there are 35.000 hotel pages that state this!!
Textual content and message are original. It offers tips, suggestions, eye-openers that others do not. You pull the visitor deeper into the website and make that it will be bookmarked or remembered, not by its Bookmark icon, but because the website impresses.
The website stands out in either branding, either the content and preferably both. It is NOT based on websites of competition, as this will rather hurt than help.
Good luck to you and your hotel!
